top play-to-earn games

This week saw the positive sentiment in cryptocurrencies and blockchain tech increasing. Though at times it feels like blockchain enthusiasts are still in a minority, the number and quality of the projects continues to grow. So let’s take a look at our top 10 NFT collections and games from this past week.

With the financial world in turmoil, cryptocurrencies are solidly in the green this week. The competition in the web3 gaming world grows more fierce as mobile gaming begins to capture a larger share of the audience. And while many NFT projects come and go, the Bored Ape Yacht Club franchise continues to grow and attract collectors with every NFT release they have!

Gaming playtests and even launch plans are becoming more and more frequent. Subscribe to our newsletter for a weekly summary as well as links to all of our articles from the week!

A bit of a shakeup in the charts this week. Mobile gaming is coming more to the forefront of web3 games as Benji Bananas sees a resurgence, and we have two new mobile entrants from Iskra and Yuliverse. Iskra, released 3 Kingdoms Multiverse this week, a mobile, turn-based, play to earn RPG. Yuliverse, another RPG, is currently in public beta and available for both iOS and Android devices.

And though the player numbers for some of regular games are down a bit, overall the competition in the web3 space is heating up, with one of the oldest games, Axie Infinity, nearly pushed off of the charts! And we may even have some competition for the top two spots over the coming weeks and months!

The NFT charts see a lot of volatility this week. Which is not unusual given that the charts are still dominated by high-value, PFP style projects.

And while Bitcoin Ordinals are a hot topic these days, Ethereum NFT collections still attract the big spenders.

Sewer Passes make a resurgence as BAYC opens up the minting for Power Sources. Rumor has it that some people are even buying voided Sewer Passes (ones that have already claimed their Power Source), despite them having no future use case! And then, the Power Sources, themselves, under the collection name of HV-MTL, claim over $15 million in volume during their first week!

It seems that BAYC can do no wrong, as this brings us back to having five of the top ten projects associated with the Bored Ape universe!
