Top NFT Collections and Games this Week – March 4

top play-to-earn games

We’re back for another look at the top NFT and web3 games of this past week. The NFT markets saw the expected volume drop as the heavy wash trading eased up. And gaming development continues to march forward, with more play and earn opportunities appearing every week!

The wash trading from those seeking to game the expected, second airdrop from Blur.io seems to have slowed down. And as a result, we see a significant drop in the trading volume for the top NFT projects. Despite this temporary data outlier, NFT markets continue to remain strong overall.

For the gamers out there, new play and earn opportunities appeared this week from Undead Blocks, Champions Ascension, Mirandus, and Eternal Dragons! With more playtest releases, most of which offer some form of reward to their players, the play to earn field continues to grow. The web3 gaming space is rapidly maturing, though those who don’t keep up with the news seem to think that blockchain gaming is still nothing but slot machines and pyramid schemes!

As always, there is plenty to keep up with in the blockchain space. Subscribe to our newsletter for a weekly summary as well as links to all of our articles from the week!

Planet IX continues their climb up the charts, securing the third place spot behind our perennial top two – Alien Worlds and Splinterlands. This staking / farming game continues to add new layers and complexities to their game, and it seems to be attracting the players!

And Oath of Peak, which just launched back in January, seems to be holding their own, slipping into the 10th spot on our charts this week.

As expected, after the NFT whale wash trading frenzy last week, this week we see significant decreases in trading volume across the board. The only exception in the top 10 is a project that is new to this list, MG Land.

MG Land is another metaverse / virtual world project. I don’t see anything in particular to associate this volume spike with, so we’ll see if MG Land can maintain this amount of trading traffic in the coming weeks.
