Top NFT Collections and Games this Week – March 11

top play-to-earn games

This was certainly a rough week for the crypto space overall. And it’s not only the SVB collapse. Rumors and news of lawsuits and stifling regulation permeated the space, making many wonder where the future of blockchain tech might be headed!

This week saw another major banking collapse. And while perhaps this isn’t as directly correlated with crypto like FTX, the ripples of panic have spread across all of the financial spaces. Much like the FTX fiasco, developers are now forced to specifically state that they didn’t have any direct association with the Silicon Valley Bank.

And while the crypto markets are rocked by the latest news, as usual, development still continues onward. Champions Ascension in particular, keeps to their steady pace of updates with a new, 3v3, team combat mode in the arena. ev.io continues their building as well, offering a new game mode called Snipe the Streamer. And Continuum World finally launches their free to play, First Explorers event.

As always, there is plenty to keep up with in the blockchain space. Subscribe to our newsletter for a weekly summary as well as links to all of our articles from the week!

Overall a good week for blockchain gaming. Mostly positive trends for the top 10 games, with a new entry this week from a game called Hunters On-Chain.

Hunters On-Chain was originally a web2 game that decided to try and take advantage of the opportunities offered by web3 technology. Their launch into the web3 space includes a tournament that seems to be attracting a large number of players.

Another week of declining sales volume for the top NFT projects. And though they still occupy three of the top four slots, the Bored Ape franchise relinquishes their complete domination of the charts, making way for new projects such as Gitcoin Presents and Owls.

Gitcoin Presents is an NFT collection launched at the beginning of the month that is associated with Vitalik Buterin where a large portion of the proceeds are donated to Gitcoin.

Meanwhile, Owls are a collection of ASCII-style images of Owls that just launched with a free mint. The retro-style of the collection has already spawned a number of imitators, and appears to have caught the eye of the NFT community at large.

Tune in next week to see if these new projects can maintain their hype and popularity!
