Top NFT Collections and Games this Week – July 23

top play-to-earn games

This activity this summer hasn’t really cooled down for web3 games, though the overall trading volume for our top NFT collections seems to be on the decline. Let’s take a look at some of the news stories from web3 gaming, as well as see who is on the top of the charts this week!

Move to earn continues to gain traction as our new entry into the field, Sweat Economy, dominates the charts for second week in a row, and Genopets launches season one of their crafting feature, removing 150 items from the recipe book and adding 140 new ones!

And for those who would prefer a desktop experience, there is plenty of action there as well! Tearing Spaces enters open beta this week, with a number of play and earn opportunities, Dread Arena from Uldor is hosting a series of tournaments, The Sandbox is taking early access applications for creators wishing to publish their own experiences, and Axie introduces a new leveling system!

We still NFT mints happening as well. The Skyborne Legacy mint already sold out, but you can still apply for a whitelist spot to the SkyReign Immortal mint from Alterverse.

And have you ever wanted to play a web3 game but didn’t have the NFTs for it? Well LootRush is now here to help, with an NFT rental system for a growing number of web3 enabled games!

Read on for a look at the most active web3 games and NFT projects for the week. And be sure to keep an eye on our website and Twitter feed for the latest developments in the web3 gaming space!

Despite a significant drop in active players, for the second week in a row, Sweat Economy takes the top spot on our charts. But we’ve seen economic collapses in the move to earn economy from other projects. Will Sweat be able to buck the trend? Or is this just an initial surge that will soon fade?

And speaking of fading, Splinterlands drops out of the top 10 completely. On an interesting note, they still have 56k users, which until a couple of weeks ago, would have guaranteed a top 10 spot in active players. This again shows that web3 gaming is on the rise!

Our new entries in the chart this week are Xterio, a gaming development and distribution platform that already has a number of projects signed on to it, such as Blocklords and Metacene, and PlayEmber, a mobile game platform.

Another week of subdued activity on the NFT front. The Azuki frenzy has passed, leaving just the original collection on our charts. Making room for Opepen Edition and Milady Maker to return.

With it’s minimalist, art referential style, Opepen Edition seems to be gaining more traction with every set release. Also offering a chance for NFT holders to vote on whether the next set is released or not, Opepen brings audience engagement and player governance to NFT art!
