Top NFT Collections and Games this Week – April 16

top play-to-earn games

A new game tops the charts this week with more active players than any others! And while the gaming charts were mostly stable beside that, NFT collections saw a lot of volatility.

Is alt-coin season upon us? It’s hard to say for sure. But I can say that playtest season is indeed here! Mojo Melee will seen have an open beta, with chances for players to earn whitelist spots to their next mint. Mighty Action Heroes will have a short playtest as well later this month.

Eldarune is holding an ongoing, play to earn event for whitelist spots for their upcoming mint, which will be free! And those with Mocaverse NFTs (either Mocas or Realm Tickets), can soon join a play and earn event with Arc8, a mobile gaming platform with a dozen, skill-based games available.

Mobile, web3 gaming continues to rise, with a new, mobile-only game, Iskra, shooting to the top of the charts in spectacular fashion! Will it last? That’s another question that’s hard to answer. But whether Iskra stays in the charts or not, don’t be surprised to see other mobile games making appearances over the coming months!

The web3 gaming world is really revving up their overall output! Continue reading for more stories and subscribe to our newsletter for a weekly summary, as well as links to all of our articles from the week!

Iskra continues an unprecedented climb in user numbers, jumping up to the top spot this past week! I can’t even tell you when the last time was that the number one spot wasn’t held by Alien Worlds or Splinterlands!

And speaking of Splinterlands, they stopped the bleeding of the last couple of weeks and actually made a nice turnaround in regards to active users. Perhaps a result of the opening of land surveying?

Otherwise, the charts are the usually suspects we see from week to week, with some minor shuffling of spots.

A lot of volatility this week in the world of NFT sales. The CryptoPunks remain at the top, while the various Bored Ape collections fluctuate up and down on a weekly basis. But they aren’t the only multiple collection, NFT project on the charts. With Azuki and BEANZ Official both in the top 5 this week, we may be seeing the rise of a new dynasty!

But the Bored Ape empire has grown recently, with Otherdeed holders able to mint new Vessel NFTs and decouple their Kodas from the land plots. And the Otherdeed collection has split into those who have ‘expanded’ their deeds, and those who haven’t. This is supposedly an importat step towards an upcoming game called Legends of Mara.
