B-Side Games is bringing their upcoming online role playing game Chainmonsters to crowdfunding platform Kickstarter with some exclusive content. Starting from October 20th backers can obtain super rare monsters, exclusive items and the first even minted edition of each Chainmon in the game. An early version of the game is already available for testing on Steam, iOS and Android.

Chainmonsters is a massively multiplayer online RPG strongly inspired by monster catching games like Pokémon. However, it uses the Flow blockchain to give players real ownership over every collectible item in the game, ranging from the player character to the little monsters, and outfits and items players collect on their adventures.

Chainmonsters will start with 135 unique Chainmons. Each of them has individual values, including stats, traits and mutations. These little monsters have serial numbers based on the moment they were caught, and they come in three different rarities: normal, shadow and crystal. Players can only obtain these exclusive crystal versions through the Chainmonsters crowdfunding campaign. There are 600 hundreds of them available, but the required Founder Pack costs 350 EUR.

With a price tag of 20 EUR the Digital Alpha is the cheapest supporter pack, while the most expensive allows backers to design their own chainmon for 5000 EUR. Hundred backers who contribute the biggest amounts, will also receive a Founder Token. This token gives several in-game bonuses, including XP boosts.

What is Chainmonsters?

Chainmonsters is a massively multiplayer online role playing game inspired by classic games like The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon. However, players will be competing against each other. Every player is an agent working for a corporation. There’s a mysterious disease that makes all creatures more aggressive, and there’s a weird crystal in the world. Guess who needs to find out? But can players trust the corporation? Who knows.

Directly on launch, the game will introduce a season pass with timed events and event exclusive content. The game is running on the Flow blockchain, which allows easy on-boarding for users not familiar with blockchain technology.

Players won’t even notice there’s blockchain technology involved. However, once they dive deeper into the game they will be able to claim their wallet and everything they’ve collected. Gamers can keep, sell or trade all their items on an open peer-to-peer marketplace, like for example Viv3.

Chainmonsters is coming to Steam, iOS and Android. The game works cross-platform. In addition B-Side Games is working on a console version for Nintendo Switch, Playstation and Xbox.
