First Alpha Exclusive NFTs Coming to Chainmonsters

chainmonsters alpha-5 update nft flow mainnet

Even though the monster-catching role playing game Chainmonsters is still in its testing phase, B-Side Games will make its first Alpha exclusive NFTs available on Thursday. The German studio will launch the Alpha-5 update at 11am CET and with it, the game will launch on Flow mainnet.

The Alpha-5 update comes with all kinds of improvements for Chainmonsters. The Season Pass feature will make it debut, and even more important is that Chainmonsters will switch to Flow mainnet. When it comes to gameplay, players can expect various buffs and nerfs to abilities, new monsters, elemental reactions, 3D battles, a 3D player-camera and much more.

The first Season Pass coming to Chainmonsters, will be the Alpha Season Pass. Seasonal content will unlock various levels over time. During the Alpha Season Pass there will be 25 alpha exclusive rewards, split over 25 unlockable levels. When Chainmonsters has its full release, the Season Pass will come in a Free and a Premium tier. Season Passes will allow players to unlock time-exclusive rewards, and Premium players will always have something extra.

What else is coming to Chainmonsters

Bside Games has a whole lot more updates planned for this month. After the mainnet release of Chainmonsters, they will launch the marketplace. Search and sorting functionalities will come somewhere in the middle of the month.

In the first week of August players can expect the Alpha-6 update, which would be the final alpha update for the role playing game. This update will be huge, as it will unlock all scheduled content. Think about for example daily and weekly challenges, making squads, and so on.

At least one month later, probably a bit more, Chainmonsters will launch in beta. This will mean that the game will be free to download for everybody on iOS, Android and Steam.

What is Chainmonsters?

Chainmonsters is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game inspired by classic games like The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon. It runs on PC and mobile devices. Players will be competing against each other. Every player is an agent working for a corporation. There’s a mysterious disease that makes all creatures more aggressive, and there’s a weird crystal in the world. Guess who needs to find out? But can players trust the corporation? Who knows.

Players will need to acquire all kinds of little monsters. Some of them can only be found in certain regions, others only for a limited time. These monsters come from different elements, nine in total. These are generally home to a certain island or region: pyro, hydro, nature, electro, air, cryo, geo, and crystal.

Each of those mons has several basic attributes: health points (HP), attack, defense, elemental attack, elemental defense, speed, and stamina points (SP). In addition, each mon has individual values for each stats, which means that mons can have different stats even though they look the same.

On top of that, there are traits. Each monster has up to two traits. Most of them start with one and will learn a second one as they level up. For example, arcane intellect increases the critical hit chance, while haste increases the speed gain on a level-up. There are also traits that increase the attack power, while others decrease certain stats.
