MetalCore brings us a new playtest this week, including a PvE zones! Along with this new feature, they are holding a special treasure hunt event, with an Elite Swag Pack as the top prize!

Officially in a phase they call Open World Alpha 2, MetalCore has been holding irregular playtests for many months now. This latest one introduces a brand new feature to the game, PvE zones. In these zones players either venture out solo or in groups of up to 10 players. Combat with other players is strictly prohibited in the PvE zones.

This playtest runs from May 1st, 9pm EST until May 8th, 3pm EST. The alpha is free to play, though you will need a key to download the game. Fill out the Alpha Waitlist form to get your key. MetalCore is now available through Epic Games, who continue to grow as a platform for delivering and managing web3 games.

For this stage of alpha, everyone has access to the same selection of equipment and vehicles.

And for this playtest, MetalCore has hidden a special artifact somewhere on the map. The first player to find it wins an ‘Elite Swag Pack’ that contains MetalCore merchandise as well as a Ledger Nano S! When you find the artifact, you will need to take a screenshot of it in-game, and then open a ticket on the MetalCore Discord. You will also need to register for this event beforehand at this link. The first 100 players to find and report the artifact receive an official MetalCore Sticker Pack that also includes bonus stickers from Immutable.

What is MetalCore?

MetalCore is a web3-enabled game that is a cross between Planetside and Battlefield. It’s a first-person/third-person, sci-fi-themed FPS with numerous vehicles, infantry types, and loadouts. The game will feature instanced, large-scale, faction combat. With some battles supporting up to 100 players per side. MetalCore features vehicle and infantry combat, with a wide variety of combat styles and support options to choose from. Coordination with your teammates and faction will be important.

During the Faction battles, each side tries to take and control various tactical points around the map and attempt to destroy the enemy base. Tactical points provide in-game advantages for the controlling faction. Each player has a limited number of respawns per battle. Once those respawns run out, that player may no longer play in that battle, but other players can take their place.

MetalCore includes both PvE and PvP zones. Players earn FAB tokens while playing the game. This token will be used for crafting and upgrades. Players craft Vehicles in Garages, and can upgrade and customize them with special skins and decals. MetalCore will also support Baronies, or guilds.

MetalCore will include free-to-play options. They are also implementing a Content Creator’s program with rewards for streamers and video creators. MetalCore is currently in closed alpha testing.
