Aradena Battlegrounds brings us another beta event with prizes for hitting certain milestones, in addition to generous rewards for the top players. Along with this beta event comes a new game build as well, with a number of updates, including the ability to construct your own decks!

Aradena Battlegrounds brings us a new game update and with it, a beta event that offers rewards just for playing, as well as additional rewards for the top players. The game is free to play and available for download through the Elixir Launcher.

The team behind Aradena Battlegrounds ran into some funding issues recently. And though they seem to still have some trouble raising capital from VCs, they do have a crowdfunding effort underway. If you’re interested, you can read more about that in their official docs.

The Beta Showdown 3 tournament will begin on Friday August 25th, at 12pm UTC. Players have until Monday, August 28th, 12pm UTC to accumulate as many points as they can!

What’s new in Beta Showdown 3?

Beta Showdown 3 includes a number of rewards for participating, even if you don’t get into the top ranks of the leaderboard. For just playing a single match, players receive 25 Silver (in-game currency) and five of each commodity type (to be used in future releases). Earning 10 points is worth an additional 50 Silver, 20 or more points rewards a silver card pack, and if you receive more than 50 points, you get another silver pack and a genesis card pack! Not too bad!

Players earn points for every match they play to at least turn 4. Three points for a win, and one for a loss. Disconnecting from a game will forfeit your points for that game. So make sure to play every game out or hit the concede button if it’s a hopeless situation.

The top eight players on the leaderboard at the end of the event receive all sorts of prizes including card packs, loot chests, ornaments, and card backs for their deck. But the most interesting prize is reserved for the top spot. The player in first place not only receives a bunch of great loot, including special cosmetic items, but they also get to design their own card!

The first place finisher will work with Aradena’s design team to create a card (or cosmetic item) which will become part of the game. Once their items is added to the game, the designing player will receive a free gold version of it. Pretty cool!

To inaugurate this event, the Aradena team is releasing a new patch with a number of bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, 20 new cards, and a new feature – deck building! Players will now be able to assemble their own decks in addition to using the starter decks.

What is Aradena Battlegrounds?

Aradena Battlegrounds is a free to play, turn-based, fantasy, strategy combat game. Players each have a Golem that marches across the board towards the opposing team. Whoever reduces the opponent’s Golem’s health to zero first wins the game.

Before heading off to combat, players must assemble a deck of cards, made of Units, Spells, and Warriors. Warriors are the Genesis NFTs of the Ardena collection and provide various bonuses and abilities. Players build and train their army of NFTs and battle other players for loot chest rewards. Loot chests include tokens and NFT collectables which can be traded at the in-house marketplace, or added to a player’s army.

Aradena will feature a merge-up / shining feature similar to Gods Unchained. Players can merge multiple copies of a card to create a shinier version. Gold and higher level shines can be traded on NFT markets.

The Ardana team also wants to add a breeding system, a scholarship program, and land-based gameplay.

Aradenean Gold (AG) is the utility and governance token for Aradena Battlegrounds which was just launched recently via Seedify. A staking system for the AG tokens should open soon.
