Looking at their roadmap for the rest of the year, Aavegotchi revealed that their first land sale will take place in October. They will sell parcels in the Gotchiverse Realm one month later than originally planned, because their content schedule already offers lots of events.

When Aavegotchi sells their first land parcels, they will do this following the bid-to-earn method. During this first land sale, the team will sell 16,000 REALM parcels. In addition 4,000 REALM parcels will go to the Drop Ticket Raffle. The team will reveal more details about the land sale later this month.

Before the REALM land sale takes place, Aavegotchi has a bunch of other events planned. Right now users can stake their GHST tokens to earn frens points, which they can use to buy raffle tickets. These tickets could earn users a portal for Haunt 2. In addition there will be a DAO event in two weeks, followed by a Frens wearables raffle at the end of the month. In October the team will allow users to make an offer on their Baazaar NFT marketplace, followed by the second season of Rarity Farming.

The rest of the Aavegotchi roadmap

After that first land sale, there’s a lot more happening in the Aavegotchi ecosystem. For example, the team will introduce the option to rent or lend Gotchi ghosts. Those who borrow one, will be able to use this pixel ghost to compete in mini-games, gain access to the rewards from mini-games, join the Gotchiverse and so on.

At the moment of writing there’s a game jam happening, and some of these games will be published in the Aavegotchi Aarcade this November. Here players can use their ghosts to compete for prizes. Supposedly this will make Aavegotchi even more a play-to-earn game.

In November and December the second and third land sale for Aavegotchi will take place, followed by the launch of the Gotchiverse Citaadel in December.

What is Aavegotchi?

Aave is the Finnish word for ghost. An Aavegotchi is a cute little pixelated ghost that has several traits. First of all, there’s financial collateral backing the existence of the little ghost. In addition, these ghosts have random traits, they can wear clothes and others items, and they come with a certain rarity level. You could see an Aavegotchi ghost as a modern piggy bank that generates interest while wearing cool pixelated items. The money backing the ghost will always be there. And adding rare NFT wearables increases its performance and therefore makes it more valuable.

With GHST Aavegotchi has a newly announced eco-governance token. Users can acquire GHST through Uniswap and other exchanges, or the Aavegotchi platform. You buy GHST using DAI, and you need some Aave aTokens, like aDAI for example. Then you need to spend GHST to get a portal, which will give you a cute little Aavegotchi. Owners can use this little ghost in games, sell them for a profit or burn them to regain the money backing its existence.
