After a pre-sale last week the governance token AXS for Axie Infinity is now available on the cryptocurrency exchange Binance. Investors and traders can trade these Axie Infinity Shards or AXS tokens against Bitcoin, Binance Coin and the digital dollars BUSD and USDT. The initial token price was set at $0.10, and within minutes to price increased 80 percent.
The Axie Infinity Shards give token holders a vote in the future of Axie Infinity. Axie Infinity is currently seen as one of the best live gaming products in the blockchain space. They have embraced play-to-earn and create value through their community and in-game activity.
AXS is the second game-related token that Binance launches in a short time. In August they launched SAND, the native token for The Sandbox. This token initially launched for $0.008333, but increased its value very quickly with 700 percent. Nowadays the token is fluctuating between 3 and 4 dollar cents.
How to use AXS
In the near future players can earn AXS tokens by winning battles in Axie Infinity. In addition gamers are likely to earn AXS by completing dungeons, winning tournaments, interact and tending land, using Axie products and creating content. Token holders can stake these tokens to vote on governance decisions. Stakers earn AXS for their staking activity as well, creating a second way to acquire more tokens.
In early 2021, a Community Treasury will go live and begin to receive distributions from Axie Infinity’s products as well as a portion of staking rewards. This treasury will be governed by AXS stakers once the network has become sufficiently decentralized. The treasury will be filled with funds acquired from breeding and trading on the marketplace.
