Gods Unchained Goes Mobile

Gods Unchained mobile banner

At long last, the mobile version of the Gods Unchained app has now officially been released. Now players can battle for supremacy in the arena no matter where they are!

As we head into March, Gods Unchained can check the first item off of their 2024 roadmap. And that would be the official release of the mobile apps! For over five years players have been able to battle each other in various desktop versions of Gods Unchained. But, now, at long last, and after a significant tease last fall, the Gods Unchained mobile apps have been officially released!

Players can install the app on iOS and Android devices. Check the Gods Unchained webpage for the official links. You can play as a guest, no login required. Or you can login with your Immutable Passport to access your accounts and earn GODS tokens while playing. The mobile interface is clean, and offers everything the desktop client does aside from the Forge (though supposedly that will be added later).

I found the card text to be too small to read easily on my phone. And the app doesn’t seem to allow you to zoom in. But overall, a great first release for GU mobile!

Mobile gaming is huge. The web3 gaming charts have been increasingly dominated by mobile-oriented games and platforms. And while Gods Unchained is well-known in the web3 gaming circles, it’s not so well-known outside of that. We’ll see if making the game more accessible by releasing these mobile versions will make a difference in player numbers.

Either way, I don’t see Gods Unchained going away anytime soon, but I’m sure both the team and current playerbase would love to see an increase in player activity!

What is Gods Unchained?

Gods Unchained is a free-to-play, collectible card game. Built on the Ethereum blockchain, Gods Unchained uses the Immutable X layer-2 solution for gas-free trading. Players retain full ownership over their cards. Players can earn digital ‘Core’ cards by playing the game. When a player has two identical Core cards, they can mint these into one blockchain-based card. That card is then tradeable on the markets.

Gods Unchained offers several play and earn opportunities. Players can earn cards by being active players, win packs while competing in the weekend tournaments, and can even receive payments of GODS tokens simply for playing every day!

With several expansions its belt, Gods Unchained has a wide variety of cards for different playstyles. Players can buy and open packs from the official site. Secondary sales are available on the Immutable X Marketplace and Token Trove.
