The blockchain-powered party adventure game Blankos Block Party will receive the biggest gameplay update till date, as it will introduce its first play-to-earn mechanic. Furthermore there will be new quests, abilities, ways to level up characters, seasonal challenges and other new features. Mythical Games has scheduled the update to go live on Wednesday June 2nd.

Mythical Games has described the introduction of a play-to-earn mechanic as a key feature for Blankos Block Party. They will introduce something called a Party Pass. This gives users the ability to earn Blanko Bucks, which is the in-game currency, and Blanko NFTs.

Through Party Pass there will be daily, weekly and seasonal challenges. Each of those quests earns you Hype Points, and those eventually unlock the rewards. Think about Moola, Blanko Bucks, but also emotes or a special Blanko.

Blanko customization options

In Blanko Block Party players can add all kinds of accessoires to their character, giving them a hat, a jetpack and a crazy weapon. With the newest update the developers will add a lot more options for customization to the game. Players can either get into Mixing or Mashing.

Mixing requires players to use a Gumball item. These are new collectibles that can either be earned through Party Pass or bought from the shop. Mixing basically allows you to add new colors to a Blanko. The other customization option, Mashing, allows players to sample pieces from one Blanko and put them on a new one. During this process the old Blanko will remain… nobody is getting destroyed today! Players are free to combine these actions as they please.

However, mashing is irreversible. When a new Blanko has been minted, that can’t be undone. Thankfully players can preview their new Blanko, before it gets created. According to Mythical Games some Blankos will not be available for use through these mashups, but they failed to specify any more details on this.

In addition the developers have added new Blankos classes. As a result new power moves and perks will become available. Every season new moves and perks can be introduced, replacing older ones. Sometimes older ones will make a comeback. Furthermore, the team will introduce grading. A Blankos character can be leveled up, increasing its rarity. This can be done through gameplay, or by buying XP Chips from the shop.

Big Blankos reset

The game world of Blankos will get an overhaul as well. The center of the game, The Junction, will be changed. In addition the game will now introduce a tutorial, and everybody needs to do this tutorial before playing the game. The goods news is that you will get a Blankos character for that.

If you’ve been playing Blankos and you’ve reached level 10 with at least one character, you will receive a Hot Dog Backpack. If you didn’t reach level 10 yet, you still have some time. The deadline is June 1st 11:59PM PDT.

That’s it when it comes to free stuff. The update on June 2nd will also mean a major reset for Blankos. As a result all Blankos will be put back into their box. The only thing that won’t be reset are your ownership over Blankos and items, the prizes you’ve earned from events and giveaways and to Blanko Bucks in your wallet. All other things, including items purchased with off-chain game currency Moola, will be reset. So yeah, everything non-NFT will disappear, which is common for a beta testing phase of course.

Also, the NFT marketplace for Blankos is coming very soon as well.

What is Blankos Block Party?

Blankos Block Party is an open-world multiplayer game styled like a giant block party. The game has a focus on building, exploration and curating your collection of unique and rare Blankos. The game is coming to PC, but will very likely also make an appearance on console systems.

Blankos Block Party is a party game in which users can enjoy curated and user generated content. This can range from races to shooting challenges, from platforming to other crazy stuff. Users can build creations on the fly using assets available to them, while venturing into new adventures with their personally owned Blankos characters. Blankos Block Party focuses on user generated content, and it introduces a frictionless NFT economy.

Blankos uses the so-called dGoods format for its NFTs. The team at Mythical has build their dGoods system in such a way that NFTs can move across different chains. Because this way they want to make sure that the technology doesn’t limit the liquidity for players.

Blankos Block Party is using the blockchain technology from EOSIO, similar to EOS and WAX. However, the team of Mythical Games has the ambition to connect their game economy to other blockchains as well.
