Fashion brand Burberry will make its first move into the NFT space next week, as it will launch collectibles for the game world of Blankos Block Party. On August 11th gamers can buy wearables and an NFT game character from the Blankos NFT Marketplace.
Burberry named their first NFT collection for Blankos, The B Series. The drop will include the Sharky B character and accompanying accessories. They based the designs of the NFTs on their TB symbol.
The new Blanko will listen to the name Sharky B. There will only be 750 mints of this one, each with a $299,99 price tag or 30,000 Blanko Bucks. Keep in mind, you can earn these Blanko Bucks by completing in-game tasks and challenges.
In addition there will be some wearables. There will be 1,500 Burberry Jetpacks selling for $99,99 or 10,000 Blanko Bucks. The Burberry Pool Shoes will have unlimited mints for a 2-week period. These shoes will cost $49,99 or 5,000 Blanko Bucks. The Burberry Arm Bands will also have a 2-week sale period, with a $24,99 or 2,500 Blank Bucks price tag.
Even though this is Burberry’s first endeavor into NFTs, it’s not the first fashion company to do so. Adidas already worked with fashion model Karlie Kloss to launch an NFT collection in collaboration with The Fabricant, a digital-only fashion house. Another brand that moved into the blockchain space is Gucci, while DappRadar also lists Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton.
What is Blankos Block Party?
Blankos Block Party is an open-world multiplayer game styled like a giant block party. The game has a focus on building, exploration and curating your collection of unique and rare Blankos. The game is coming to PC, but will very likely also make an appearance on console systems. Blankos Block Party is using blockchain technology from EOSIO, similar to EOS and WAX.
Blankos Block Party is a party game in which users can enjoy curated and user-generated content. This can range from races to shooting challenges, from platforming to other crazy stuff. Users can build creations on the fly using assets available to them while venturing into new adventures with their personally owned Blankos characters. Blankos Block Party focuses on user-generated content, and it introduces a frictionless NFT Marketplace.
Blankos uses the so-called dGoods format for its NFTs. The team at Mythical has build their dGoods system in such a way that NFTs can move across different chains. Because this way they want to make sure that the technology doesn’t limit the liquidity for players.
