Gods Unchained Adds New Game Modes

Gods Unchained

It’s been over four and a half years since Gods Unchained first released their beta version. And in all that time, with numerous updates, patches, and card expansions, players have still been relegated to playing only the one, standard game mode. But that all changes with the latest update from the Gods Unchained team, which opens up a rotating selection of different game modes!

The day that many Gods Unchained players have been waiting for has finally arrived — the introduction of new game modes! No longer will players be forced to stick with the same old standard game. Now there will be a second, alternate game mode available for players.

New game modes were part of the 2023 roadmap that Gods Unchained revealed back in May. And though they didn’t quite hit their Q2 goal for adding alternate modes, it’s close enough! This second game type will rotate through the alternate modes on a regular basis, offering different experiences for the playerbase.

Chaos Constructed

First up in the rotation is a game mode called Chaos Constructed. Chaos Constructed mode allows players to build decks using any cards the want. No restrictions based on God choice! So now if you want to pair your Death Anubians with your Light Olympians, you are free to do so. Or if you want to pull in cards from across all five domains, you can do that as well! This will almost certainly lead to some insane, overpowered decks, but that’s where the fun comes from!

The team claims that they have about a dozen different game modes (including a sealed deck mode!) ready to unleash. The game modes will rotate more often in the beginning to allow the team to get feedback from players and fix any problems or issues that arise.

In addition, Gods Unchained has revamped their deck builder. The new version comes with advanced filtering, color-coded cards, and deck breakdowns! Reportedly it still has a few interface issues, but it seems like this is a positive step in the right direction. And the deck breakdowns look pretty slick.

What is Gods Unchained?

Gods Unchained is a free-to-play, collectible card game. Built on the Ethereum blockchain, Gods Unchained uses the Immutable X layer-2 solution for gas-free trading. Players retain full ownership over their cards. Players can earn digital ‘Core’ cards by playing the game. When a player has two identical Core cards, they can mint these into one blockchain-based card. That card is then tradeable on the markets.

Gods Unchained offers several play and earn opportunities. Players gain cards by being active players, win packs while competing in the weekend tournaments, and earn GODS tokens by playing daily.

With several expansions its belt, Gods Unchained has a wide variety of cards for different playstyles. Players can buy and open packs from the official site. Secondary sales are available on the Immutable X Marketplace and Token Trove.
