Echoes of Empire, a space-based, multiplayer strategy game, announced plans for a game playtest in April, as well as revealing an official launch date for their beta! Players of the previous alpha should see many game improvements this time around, as well as the first taste of combat!
Another title from the Gala portfolio, Echoes of Empire, announces a new playtest in April as they prepare for their official beta launch later this year.
Scheduled for April 19th through April 24th, this upcoming playtest will only be open to those who own Celestial Claim NFTs. Celestial Claims are an important part of the game, as they allow players to establish mines and harvest resources. Celestial Claim owners can also rent out their mines to other players. Currently, NFTs for Echoes of Empire are only available on secondary markets.
This playtest will give players the first look at game combat as well as claimable point of interest (POI). The user interface should see also an improvement with additional notifications and tooltips.
There will be other playtests before the beta launch later this year, but we don’t have any information about those yet. Expect that any resources of progress earned during these playtests will be wiped before beta.
Echoes of Empire Beta
And, somewhat surprisingly, the Echoes of Empire team also offered up a specific date for their beta release (they must have a pretty confident project manager!) Slated for October 3rd, 2023, the Echoes of Empire beta will be available to the general public.
Though there will continue to be improvements and feature additions after the beta launch, this should be a milestone for Echoes of Empire, showcasing all of the game foundations and with in-game economy and all of the primary features in a functional state.
The first sale for NFT ships should occur before the beta launch.
What is Echoes of Empire?
The Echoes of Empire is a sci-fi, 4x, MMO strategy game. Players take the part of an aristocratic family and work to build up their empire. Starting with a small space station, players pledge their allegiance to a faction and try to leave their mark upon the galaxy. Players can send their ships on missions and quests to earn rewards. They can also join guilds to combat enemies and gather resources scattered across the universe.
Aside from the usual exploration and building of spaceships, players will also claim land and expand their influence, fight space pirates, and upgrade their base. Players can even claim Royal Peerage and announce their intent to rule over a section of space!
Players upgrade warships, repair fleets, and craft new weapons at the Command Station. Ships and bases can be improved and leveled up. In addition, players own in-game assets through NFTs. Echoes of Empire is part of the Gala Games ecosystem.
