The final Episode for the Phantom Galaxies alpha arrives at the end of this month. Players can continue the storyline, completing missions, and possibly even earning ASTRAFER tokens along the way. Episode 4 brings a new Starfighter to the game, new quests, and new dangers!

Phantom Galaxies launches Episode 4 of their play and earn alpha on August 31st. The final installment of a planned, four-part, alpha content series, Episode 4 brings more story and action to this sci-fi, FPS / RPG game. With the systems on the brink of war, pirate factions scheme to infiltrate and destabilize. Can the player make a difference in this galactic conflict?

Lancer class

Titled, ‘Pirate’s Dilemma’, this final episode for the alpha gives players the opportunity to venture out in the Lancer class ships. And, like the previous Episodes, completing this one provides the player with a special medal and poster NFTs.

Episode 4 should also provide a chance for players to start earning the recently released ASTRAFER token. The event will be called Astrafite Rush. During the event, players earn raffle tickets as they complete missions. Completed missions also contribute towards a community pool, which increase the rewards for everyone. We don’t have a date yet for the launch of the Astrafite Rush event, but the official roadmap has it slotted in September of 2022.

Sandbox NFT

Also, Phantom Galaxies is taking a snapshot of Planet Mint Pass holders later today, at 12am UTC, August 24th. This is for some sort of Sandbox NFT, but it’s unclear if those caught in the snapshot will receive an airdrop or a whitelist to a future mint. And the Twitter announcement refers to Mint Pass holders, though the Discord chat seems to think that it will be for all Planet holders. With no official clarification, it’s hard to say what exactly is happening. But if you are a holder of a Mint Pass or a Phantom Galaxies Planet, you may want to check back!

What is Phantom Galaxies?

Phantom Galaxies is a first-person, open-world, space sim, mech shooter, RPG. Players take the role of Space Rangers who pilot Mechanized Starfighters. These vehicles function as typical fighter spaceships, but they also transform into humanoid, Mech robots!

During the game, players engage in Missions, the long-form story content of the game, and Quests, one-off scenarios. Also available are Operations (daily quests) and Raids, team-based objectives. The farther away from the core, the more dangerous the missions, and the better the loot. Far enough out, and one enters the ‘Rebel Sectors’. Here players compete with each other to gain control of various bases and resource points. Once captured, players stake governance tokens to their holdings and earn a steady stream of rewards — as long as they maintain control.

Starfighters unlock as players progress through the story. Featuring a resource harvesting and crafting system, Phantom Galaxies allows players to upgrade Starfighters and even build them from scratch! Starfighters suffer durability damage and require repair every once in a while. But be careful. Losing a ship while in a Rebel Sector could be permanent! Phantom Galaxies also includes Avatar NFTs that level up, Arena PvP, property ownership (from space stations to planetary bases to entire planets!), and support for guilds.

The initial launch for Phantom Galaxies is on the Polygon blockchain. Long-term plans include multichain support, where each chain has its own home galaxy but players can still interact. The game already features high-quality graphics, a slick interface, and detailed gameplay.

The final Episode of their closed alpha launches at the end of August 2022. Playing in the closed alpha requires ownership of any Origin NFT.
