Heroes of Mavia just announced the details about their first land sale. Though the whitelist spots are already filled, there is still a chance to acquire land through a potential public sale or by entering a lottery on the Binance NFT marketplace.
UPDATE: Due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the land sale has been postponed by a week. You can read more about this decision and the new mint date on the project’s Twitter thread.
After running a rather unique whitelist competition, Heroes of Mavia is ready to launch their first land sale.
Beginning on February 25th, 2022 at 10am EST for those on the whitelist, minting opens on the official website. For 72 hours, 3000 lands for the whitelist and 4,000 lands allotted for partners and guilds are available for minting. Any lands not minted during this period roll over to a public sale, which begins on the February 28th at 10am EST. Unfortunately, these are the only lands that will be for open sale to the general public in this round, so expect any public sale to go quickly.

Binance NFT Land Sale
For those with access to Binance NFT, 1,000 Common lands go up for sale as well. On February 28th, starting at 12am UTC, is what the Mavia team calls the Preparation stage. Users interested in purchasing a land must hold at least 0.1 BNB tokens in their wallet. There will be a staking dashboard to check your status. This phase ends on March 2nd, 2am UTC
Once the Preparation stage completes, the Subscription stage begins. Here, users who passed the Preparation requirements may purchase Land tickets with ETH. Tickets cost 0.3 ETH each and are limited to two per user. This stage closes on March 3rd at 9am UTC. Then, a random draw among all the tickets selects the land winners. Losing tickets will have their 0.3 ETH returned to the purchasing wallet.
Land Benefits
Owning Land in Heroes of Mavia provides a few benefits. On the first mint day, a special Discord channel for land owners will be available on their server. This channel is exclusive and includes extra engagement with the Mavia development team. Land holders also receive early beta access once the game development reaches that stage.
Land ownership includes other unannounced bonuses and surprises, but the words that might interest most people are ‘land staking’. The team promises a ‘soft staking’ system, where land holders earn passive rewards simply for holding land in their wallets. Details are not yet revealed, but passive income is always a welcome feature.
Land reveal happens sometime in Q3 2022. At that point, each land will be assigned a unique location on the Mavia map. Bases built on land plots will have special graphics and designs.
What is Heroes of Mavia?
Heroes of Mavia is a base building, RTS game built on the Ethereum blockchain. Players construct and improve bases, and fight with other players to earn RUBY, the main game currency. The game features upgradeable NFTs in the form of Bases, Heroes, and Statues. Bases are the core game component, and each player needs one in order to play. Heroes and Statues are optional, but both provide substantial benefits to your team. Players upgrade these NFTs by spending RUBY tokens.
The game also includes Gold and Oil resources. These are in-game only and used for certain base upgrades. These resources are produced by bases and can be stolen from other players in raids. There will be some sort of MMR / power rating system to try and keep players matched up to other players of equal strength.
Heroes of Mavia joins the growing stable of games that are incorporating rental mechanics from the very beginning. Base owners can choose to rent out their bases to other players for passive income. This can be a fixed price rental system, or a ‘partnership’. Partnerships function as a built-in scholarship system. The base owner lets the partner run and upgrade their base in exchange for a percentage of the RUBY income. Good stuff!
