Trading card game Splinterlands will start a second Chaos Legion card pack sale on Wednesday, December 8th. Players will then also be able to immediately open their packs and use their Chaos Legion cards in battle. However, in order to buy these packs you will still need VOUCHER tokens, which players can obtain by staking their SPS tokens.
During this second sale of Splinterlands Chaos Legion the card packs will cost $4, just like in the presale. You can purchase packs using Credits, DEC and SPS, but the SPS discount will be gone. For 30 days the team will double the amount of VOUCHER tokens that they will distribute.
While the card pack sale is on-going, every 1 million card packs sold will airdrop an exclusive card to previous buyers. Those who bought card packs early, will have the biggest chance of getting one of these rare cards. Keep in mind, that once the 2 million packs from this second Chaos Legion sale are sold, the remaining 12 million Chaos Legion packs will sell through a regular sale.
By then you will no longer need VOUCHER tokens, but the packs will still cost $4 each. However, you will still need VOUCHER tokens for a bonus on bulk purchases. For example, if you are purchasing 100 packs in a single transaction during this phase of the sale, then you will need 10 VOUCHER tokens in order to receive the 10 bonus packs with that purchase. In addition the team will have future use cases for VOUCHER tokens, and they will keep distributing them to users staking SPS.

What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a play-to-earn trading card game that started on the Steem blockchain as Steemmonsters. However, over time the project changed names. Now gamers can play the game on desktop and mobile devices, mainly using the Hive blockchain. Thanks to an intelligent functionality, cards and tokens can also be traded on the Ethereum blockchain and on Wax. Splinterlands now also has a governance token, called SPS.
Splinterlands allows anybody to play and earn cards and other resources. Players need to create a set of cards to defeat their opponent. Cards come in different rarities with seven different stats. In addition these cards have abilities and come from seven factions. The way cards work together is dependent on all these different attributes.
Players earn cards by winning matches. They can combine cards to gain levels. After that you can sell cards on the open marketplace for cryptocurrencies, or lease them to other players. The most rare cards are wanted assets, especially when there are tournaments. The ability to rent Splinterlands cards will certainly have an impact here!
