Spider Tank Skins Provide In-game Bonuses

Spider Tank, currently one of the darlings of the Gala Games ecosystem, announced recently that some of their tank skins will provide in-game bonuses. Not only will a tank skin make you the coolest vehicle in the arena, but it could mean the difference between victory or defeat!

Spider Tank is an in-development, PvP brawler game where two teams of tanks fight across a battlefield for victory and glory. Though the game is still in beta, players can purchase a variety of skins for the game. From the pink skin made for Breast Cancer Awareness month, to a special Halloween-themed jack-o-lantern tank. There are plenty of options to choose from.

Some tank skins come in several rarities. And in an interesting twist, Legendary and Ancient tank skins can be used on more than one tank! This feature may seem kind of weird at first glance. After all, you can only play one tank at a time unless you’re secretly an octopus. But, with eSports becoming bigger every year, and a multiplayer battle arena game made for competitive play, we start to see some use cases. For example, a team owner/sponsor/leader may want their team to have a uniform look in-game. With a single Legendary or Ancient skin, they can now provide that!

Apparently the game will offer a delegation system to make sharing these skins easier. Legendary allows for skinning of up to nine (9) tanks, Ancients up to thirty (30).

Along with this announcement comes a notice that all Spider Tank skins will increase in cost starting on November 8th. So if you’re interested, now may be the time to pick up that sweet tank design.

Spider Tank is currently in closed beta. Hopefully another open beta will arrive soon. The game will be free-to-play at launch, and offer marketplace features such as tank rentals.

What is Gala Games?

Gala Games is a blockchain gaming developer. While Town Star is the only game in their stable that’s live, they have many more in development including MirandusEchoes of Empire, and Spider Tank. Some of the games are made in-house, others through third-party developers. Gala Games functions as a publisher, developer, and blockchain gaming ecosystem.

After starting its life on the Ethereum mainnet, Gala has begun their expansion into a multi-chain environment. They have built a distributed node network and also plan on releasing their own network. Anyone with the money to spare and the willingness to run the software can purchase a node and earn rewards for helping to maintain the system.

At the center of the current ecosystem lies Gala Games’ own GALA token. Gamers earn this token by competing in weekly competitions for the free-to-play farming game, Town Star. Registering is free, playing is free, and every week players can earn GALA tokens. These tokens can’t be used inside game worlds, but players can use them to obtain NFTs.
