play-to-earn games october 2021

What are the best play-to-earn games to keep your eyes on in October? Some games will release a major update, while other games will have their first pre-sale. As a play-to-earn gamer you always look for that next big hit, but we also shouldn’t forget that we’re still very early. With this article Play to Earn Online Magazine presents 10 play-to-earn games to watch this October.

Please note. This list is not about game launches, but about what’s trending or still in development. The reasons for mentioning these games in this article will be diverse, ranging from good earning opportunities to interesting investments, all the way to simply ‘this game looks dope as f***’. In addition we want to highlight a diverse range of games, so that we won’t mention Axie Infinity, Alien Worlds and Sorare every month. Nonetheless, what the reason may be, we will explain why these play-to-earn games are part of our October selection. Vamos!

Play-to-earn with the TOWN token

Gala Games will introduce a major update for their competitive farming game Town Star. Starting from October 5th players will be able to earn TOWN tokens by playing the game and completing objectives. This is a play-to-earn mechanic on top of the existing Town Star leaderboards, which allow you to earn GALA tokens. Not only will the introduction of the TOWN token be big for Town Star itself, it will also become a blueprint for economic designs

Burn NFTs, earn Credits, buy planets

October will be a big month for the team working on Farsite, an open universe where players own spaceships, parts of planets and controls the entire economy. By the end of the month Farsite will allow players to buy parts of planets using Credits. They can obtain these Credits by burning their spaceships, each of them a so-called cNFT or collateral-NFT. However, first there will be a whitepaper, where the team will explain everything in great detail. Looks like being early in Farsite and remaining involved can bring great benefits over time.

Stake SPS for Voucher tokens, allowing you to buy card packs

In September the trading card game Splinterlands became the most active blockchain application, according to data from DappRadar. This has a lot to do with the SPS governance token. Now, staking this token will earn you VOUCHER tokens in October. These vouchers are needed to be able to buy card packs for the Splinterlands: Chaos Legion expansion set. There’s a tremendous amount of hype surrounding Splinterlands, and they haven’t even introduced land gameplay yet. This will happen most likely in 2022.

Pets will go for sale

We won’t see Guild of Guardians playable for some time, as the mobile action RPG still has a 2022 release planning. However, before the game hits the market there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved. The team still needs to sell their rare heroes, which carry a $12,50 price tag. In addition the much wanted (and teased) pets will come. Most likely we will see the pet sale happen in October, and this will probably happen (again) without an official announcement. Previously Guild of Guardians has successfully dropped their epic heroes without revealing the launch moment beforehand. The result: no gas wars, but one side of the world being annoyed.

October will be huge for everybody who’s into pixelated ghosts, because Aavegotchi will have their first land sale. A total of 20.000 REALM parcels will be distributed through a sale, and the Gotchi raffle tickets. Then to imagine that Rarity Farming is also around the corner again, generating even more hype for Aavegotchi. So far their NFT sales always sold out quick, and you need to spend big amounts to be a part of it. But the good thing is, these assets hold their value and are very wanted. Stake ALICE for raffle tickets to buy land

My Neighbor Alice always had an original take for the distribution of their land sale. Users need to stake enough ALICE tokens to be eligible for raffle tickets. Then they need to be lucky to be selected, which allows the lucky winner to buy 1 piece of land. This way distribution of land will be very decentralized. Right now you can stake ALICE, to earn raffle tickets. The staking period ends on October 10th. Those who were not selected, can keep their staked ALICE for the next land sale.

The next chapter brings robot battles to the game

R-Planet has always been about combining resources and discovery, but with R-Planet Conquest we’re getting a completely new chapter. This chapter introduces warfare, as players need to build robots. They also need to work together with other players for a super weapon, but other players will do the same. So there’s a strong PVP element to all of this. Players will need to establish a base, gather resources, build robots, steal from enemies, protect their own base and so on.

The long awaited game demo is coming!

We replaced another entry in this list, to get Voxies here. There’s something about the square-headed NFT characters that resonates with me. They look nice, and on top of that the developers have been working on the tactical RPG for a long time. I believe this will be a high-quality game with deep gameplay. While Voxie Tactics will also introduce play-to-earn mechanics through its VOXEL token. But first, the game demo that’s coming out this month. Hyped!

There you have it, ten play-to-earn games to keep your eyes on this month. To be fair, there could have been more games on this list. Dungeon Universe is now having its founder sale, Ember Sword will have its community land sale this month, and Habbo Avatars will get their first utility features. There’s a whole lot more to talk about, ranging from Riot Racers to Blankos Block Party and from Gods Unchained to the first NFT sale for CityStates Medieval. Play-to-earn gaming is getting bigger, this October, but also after that. It’s an unstoppable development where innovation thrives and players get rewarded for being an active in a wider ecosystem.
