The digital collectible project NBA Top Shot has announced that it will drop the first WNBA collectible packs on Friday, as female basketball stars make their debut on the Flow blockchain. The first packs will drop on Friday at 11am PDT / 2pm EDT / 8pm CET.
NBA Top Shot is an NFT project on the Flow blockchain where users collect moments from basketball matches. These collectible moments have always been part of modern basketball matches, and Dapper Labs has yet to announce plans for historical matches. However, the addition of the WNBA to NBA Top Shot is a big thing. It adds Diana Taurasi, Candace Parker, Sue Bird and Breanna Stewart as new collectible basketball stars.
All 25 collectible moments in the first WNBA drop come from the 2021 WNBA season, and the featured players come from all 12 WNBA teams. Each pack contains 3 moments, each of them an NFT on the blockchain. You will need to pay $9 for a pack.
Dapper Labs will setup two queues: a general queue and a priority one that starts 2 hours earlier at 9am PDT. To gain access to the queue, collectors will need a common A’ja Wilson moment in their collection. They will airdrop these moments to the community this week, and you will find them on the marketplace.
Purchasing NFTs or card packs for NBA Top Shot can be done using store credit or a credit card. In addition Dapper Labs has added the option to top up your account using cryptocurrencies.
