Chainmonsters Major Alpha-6 Update Coming in August

Blockchain-powered MMORPG Chainmonsters will launch its Alpha-6 update in August, introducing players to a new game world and many more features. B-Side Games has labelled the update as the ‘biggest and best game update yet’. Expect the update for Chainmonsters to drop in the second or third week of August.

During much of the alpha test, B-Side Games has showed players a world that’s not final. As the new Alpha-6 update is coming, Chainmonsters is approaching the end of its Alpha testing phase. The update will launch a new game world with new features. Players will start in the south of the game world in a small village. From there they will venture deeper into the continent to join the N-Corp.

Among the new features, will be the ability to catch Chainmons. Gamers can use their Replicator, and have a chance to copy a mon and add a level 5 version to their collection. Every time you try to replicate Chainmons, there’s a tiny chance that it becomes a shadow version of that mon. Replicating isn’t infinite, as it consumer one replicator charge. Saved Chainmons will go into your inventory, and players can always adjust their squads.

The introduction of new Chainmonsters and additional abilities, will change the meta of the game all the time. Players can upgrade existing abilities by leveling them up, adding new active or passive effects. For example, a Chainmon can level up to to level 20, after which it needs to unlock additional Potential. Players need to use resources from the game world to unlock this Potential. While story quests, world treasures and rewards will give you enough materials to get started, you might want to checkout the weekly challenges, boss battles and special event encounters to gain more resources.

What is Chainmonsters?

Chainmonsters is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game inspired by classic games like The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon. It runs on PC and mobile devices. Players will be competing against each other. Every player is an agent working for a corporation. There’s a mysterious disease that makes all creatures more aggressive, and there’s a weird crystal in the world. Guess who needs to find out? But can players trust the corporation? Who knows.

Players will need to acquire all kinds of little monsters. Some of them can only be found in certain regions, others only for a limited time. These monsters come from different elements, nine in total. These are generally home to a certain island or region: pyro, hydro, nature, electro, air, cryo, geo, and crystal.

Each of those mons has several basic attributes: health points (HP), attack, defense, elemental attack, elemental defense, speed, and stamina points (SP). In addition, each mon has individual values for each stats, which means that mons can have different stats even though they look the same.

On top of that, there are traits. Each monster has up to two traits. Most of them start with one and will learn a second one as they level up. For example, arcane intellect increases the critical hit chance, while haste increases the speed gain on a level-up. There are also traits that increase the attack power, while others decrease certain stats.
