Upland, the digital real estate trading and building game using real city maps, announced a new burn event where players can acquire Legendary and Mythic animated cards. Players burn common cards from the Blockchain Heroes collaboration set in order to acquire these rare collectibles.

In April, Upland collaborated with Blockchain Heroes to create a special edition of collectible cards called Upland Collectibles: Blockchain Heroes Edition. Now, owners will have a chance to burn 100 Common rarity cards from that edition to receive a Legendary or Mythic card.

Mythic cards will include an NFT block explorer, which is Upland’s version of an avatar. Gamers can import these NFTs into the Upland game. The burn activity begins on July 30th, 2021 and continues until players have claimed all cards. There are a total of 12 cards available: 10 Legendary and 2 Mythic.

Upland plans for surprise card drops, community events to win Upland Collectibles ‘Hero Packs’, and Twitter-based giveaways leading up to the burn event. Stay tuned to their social media for details.

Landmark Auction and Replica Contest

Also, this week, Upland completed their latest landmark auction. This time, the historic Bakersfield Clock Tower was up for grabs and it sold for 15 million UPX (Upland’s in-game currency). This follows other recent landmark auctions such as the Guggenheim, Rockefeller Center, and Deno’s Wonder Wheel at Coney Island. Owning one of these unique landmarks is a huge status symbol in the Upland metaverse!

Upland continued to foster community engagement by sponsoring a contest to create accurate 3D models of real buildings. They chose three winners. These winners will work with the Upland team to have their models added to the game. Pretty cool! In addition, three new landmark models will soon be added to the game — Coit Tower, Ghiradelli, and the Ferry Building. All three are in San Francisco.

What is Upland?

Upland is a Monopoly-inspired EOS blockchain game in which players buy and own digital versions of real-world properties. Players buy virtual property using in-game tokens (UPX), which they can also earn in the game itself.

The game world of Upland uses real world maps. Players start in San Francisco or Fresno and can travel to other cities, including New York, Oakland, and Chicago. They earn income from owning and trading virtual properties, completing signature collections, and participating in treasure hunts and other live events. Each property in Upland is based on real-world boundaries and is represented by a non-fungible token on the EOS blockchain.

Upland allows players to create virtual businesses. In addition, players can work together to build and upgrade their properties. Upland runs in a browser and is accessible on most devices.
