The Sandbox has announced another land sale will come to their community, as they’ve scheduled the Euphoria Land Sale for Thursday May 27th. During the sales event they will sell 900 regular lands and 400 premium lands for a fixed price, while 11 estates will be auctioned on OpenSea.
All land purchases need to be done using the native SAND token. A premium LAND will cost 4,683 SAND, which is now approximately $1,366. These premium land will come with some extra NFTs as well. While buyers of regular lands don’t get bundled NFTs. They will need to pay 1,011 SAND per land parcel, or $295 at the current exchange rate.
Like every land sale for The Sandbox, also this one is done with a range of partners. The virtual world Zepeto, and the digital collectibles of Voxodeus join the fun. On top of that the digital fashion designers from RTFKT and the Bored Ape Yacht Club will be in on the sales event. Furthermore several Asian artists, a digital real estate company, and Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen will join the online world of The Sandbox.
On Tuesday The Sandbox will reveal two more music partners for the upcoming land sale. They already said that they are DJ’s. Considering the mystery around the reveal, we expect big names joining The Sandbox. Based on the action inside the NFT art world, perhaps 3LAU and Steve Aoki? By the way, we don’t know yet what the premium NFTs will be… so perhaps we will also learn that on Tuesday, May 25th!
What is The Sandbox?
The Sandbox is one of the blockchain-powered virtual worlds currently in development. The virtual world of The Sandbox consists out of lands, and voxels fill up each of those lands. Visually it will remind many gamers of Minecraft, as both games have this Lego-inspired look to them. However, players are able to buy virtual land and implement any form of monetization. These virtual lands can become mini-games, adventures, virtual shops, extensions of actual webshops, a space for social gatherings, and so on.
The Sandbox is providing free tools for developers, gamers and content creators. Creators can use VoxEdit to make voxel objects. In addition the Game Maker allows users to create interactivity on their virtual land. The Sandbox will also create a meta gaming experience. Players can for example do daily quests or weekly quests for their guild. This will earn players SAND, which they can sell or use to buy in-game items or virtual land. Owning land in The Sandbox will allow users to monetize it. They can create and publish games, open virtual shops or organize events.
Over the past twelve months The Sandbox has been setting up all kinds of partnerships. Think about Care Bears, The Smurfs and Atari. In addition they’ve created a game fund to stimulate developers to create unique games within The Sandbox. Hack The Tao, Mushroom Mania, Planet Rift and Dethrone are some of these indie games.
