Gala Games has announced that Fortified is a new tower-defense game that’s coming to their ecosystem. Inside the game players own NFTs that represent items or land. Some of those will be distributed to node operators of the Gala ecosystem. The gaming company revealed that Fortified will use the Binance Smart Chain for its NFTs.
Details about Fortified are scarce. In the comments on the Twitter announcement Gala Games said they will reveal more details closer to release. Graphically the game seems to have similarities with other games in the Gala Games portfolio.
Fortified will become the third game that’s part of the Gala Games ecosystem. The company already has Town Star, while it’s developing the online role playing game Mirandus.
Gala Games and Binance
Last week Gala Games announced that they would incorporate Binance Smart Chain into their ecosystem. “We believe you should hold NFTs however you choose”, they wrote. In addition the company works with Flare Network, which is a layer-2 solution for the Ethereum blockchain. Ultimately the company wants players to decide where they mint items, with the need to add limitations.
Even though Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum are different blockchains, they are quite compatible. Binance made their blockchain solution with support for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which makes it very easy to port applications from one chain to the other. As a result this could provide a quick and dirty solution to move away from Ethereum.
Mirandus, Town Star and GALA
The online role playing game Mirandus contains lots of ambitious ideas. Gala Games is giving user ownership over virtual towns, businesses, and even the citadel. Polyient Games owns one of five citadels, and they also acquired the rights to take care of the economic layer of the upcoming online game.
At the center of the current ecosystem, is Gala Games’ own GALA token. Gamers can earn this token by competing in weekly competitions for the free-to-play farming game Town Star. Registering is free, playing is free, and every week players can earn GALA tokens. Users can use these tokens to acquire items for Town Star itself or NFTs for Mirandus.
