First Video Footage of Mirandus at GalaCon

Gala Games has shown the first video footage of their upcoming online role playing game Mirandus. In the trailer they show some locations, a bit of wildlife and activity inside a village. Mirandus is currently under heavy development and Gala Games expects to have an early version ready by the end of the year.

Over the weekend Gala Games organized their own virtual event, celebrating gaming in general and showcasing their current projects: Town Star and Mirandus. As the farming sim Town Star is already played by thousands of gamers, Mirandus had the spotlight.

The Mirandus video features an eerie soundtrack, as the camera moves through a dark forest. Wildlife can be seen moving around, and a wolf chases some rabbits. Then the camera moves to a village, where farmers are working, villagers walk around and the blacksmith is even slamming his hammer at night. When the sun goes down, the world of Mirandus gets pitch black, but there’s still a bit of light from both the moon and the torches that illuminate the village ahead.

Tell me more about Mirandus

When Mirandus releases, it will give players a first-person perspective as they venture into the world. Everything in the game world is owned by players, communities or organizations, ranging from the in-game banks to the shops, farms and blacksmiths. There will be a thriving in-game economy, and everybody has their part of play.

Adventurers will need food, armor repairs and some potions before they go on their next adventure. The blacksmith will need wood from the woodcutter to make a hilt, while the butcher needs meat from the farmer. There are many production lines and players can enjoy being a farmer, an adventurer, a trader or perhaps a bard.
