R-Planet has revealed their roadmap, and is preparing to launch the first phase of their game, evacuation, on Tuesday. This first phase revolves around alchemy, allowing players to combine different materials to discover new ones. The player who discovers a new element first, will be labeled as the inventor. Excavation is just the first step of R-Planet, which will also introduce a land sale and ultimately a more competitive game mode.
As a way to distribute their first basic elements NFTs, R-Planet organized a sale which sold out within three minutes. They sold only 600 packs, each containing one of the four elements: fire, earth, water and air. Each of these comes in six different rarities. Unpacking of these packs will launch on February 25th.
The packs were sold for 100 WAXP each. On the secondary market, like for example on Simple Market, there are packs for sale, starting at 600 WAXP. This roughly translates to 24 dollars. However, keep in mind that you don’t need that NFT. Players can use their assets on the WAX blockchain to stake these on the R-Planet website. That way they can accumulate AETHER, which can be used to obtain the basic elements.
Have to say, the announcement of the sale felt a bit odd. Especially considering that the actual sale happened just a few hours later. We already knew a gameplay element would be coming to R-Planet next Tuesday.
What is R-Planet?
The story from R-Planet is about finding planets where we can live. Humanity will pick Mars, but this requires research and testing. That’s where the NFT elements come into place. Combining these will allow humanity to discover more elements, and maybe solve the puzzle. Players will be staking NFTs, mining AETHER, buying and trading these basic materials, using them to create something new, and then the cycle continuous.
We’ve already seen the staking mechanism. The basic materials have been sold and will soon come into play. In the near future R-Planet will introduce mining tools to enhance the mining activity, as well as a way to swap fungible tokens.
Ultimately R-Planet: Evacuation is just the first phase of the game. The roadmap for R-Planet goes a lot further. After this first phase will come Colonization, during which there will be a land sale and the construction of buildings. In addition we’ll be mining on Mars, and there will be a gaming element. The third phase will be Conquest, during which players will discover a hostile enemy. There will be a sale of characters, and the construction of robots and vehicles.
