NBA Top Shot Sales Record Now $71.455

NBA Top Shot LeBron James sales record

The sales record on the open market for one digital collectible from NBA Top Shot is now set at $71.455. A collector who goes by the name of Andy bought a LeBron James moment from Series 1 with serial number 1. This record purchase quickly unsettled the previous record, which was set only 43 minutes earlier.

“Top sales on NBA Top Shot this morning, marketplace is on fire!”, Roham Gharegozlou, CEO from Dapper Labs, posted on Twitter. In the past week sales for NBA Top Shot have indeed been on fire. At the moment of writing there has been more than 9.9 million dollars in trading with more than 8100 buyers and over 165 thousand transactions, according to CryptoSlam. These are numbers unmatched by an blockchain application.

At a weekly basis the value of NBA Top Shot collectibles seem to go up. Three days ago NBA Top Shot reached 2 million dollars in daily trading volume for the first time. On January 8th a LeBron James moment sold for 26 thousand dollars, which already seems peanuts compared with the numbers that are going around at the moment.

Why NBA Top Shot is so hot right now

The strength of the project is twofold. First of all Dapper Labs made the Flow blockchain in such a way that people have an easy experience on-boarding into NBA Top Shot. Users will have no problems with private keys and gas fees. Many users are praising the interface made by Dapper Labs on social media.

Second, these digital collectibles are officially licensed by the NBA. They are the real deal and feature stars like for example LeBron James, Spencer Dinwiddie and many more. These collectibles come in different rarities, because of this prices for collectibles go from 1 dollar all the way to a couple of thousand dollars. Many collectors want to get in early, before the mainstream audience comes in and really pumps prices.
