Blankos Pre-Sale Ends on December 13th

blankos block party open beta

Mythical Games will discontinue their Founder’s Packs pre-sale for Blankos Block Party on Sunday December 13th. The sale will continue until that time or when the packs sell out. Yes, the game studio has finally communicated a supply limit for their pre-sale packs.

One thing that stands out, is that the most expensive Boss Pack is quite high in its supply. The much cheaper Ice Pack has less then double the supply, but is only 17 percent of the price. These are the packs, their total amount and the individual pricing:

  • Boss Pack — 3.500 packs ($150)
  • Bite Me Pack — 4.500 packs ($100)
  • Tako Pack — 5.500 packs ($50)
  • Ice Pack — 6.500 packs ($25)

With the pre-sale reaching its end, the closed beta will also end. Starting from December 10th the game will enter in open beta. That means that everybody is able to play the game with a generic Blankos character. Mythical Games is also teasing some changes to the overworld, additional content and probably some new Blankos to buy. A company needs to make money.

Closed beta launched last month

On November 18th the closed beta of Blankos Block Party opened its doors to players who registered and participated in the pre-sale. Blankos Block Party had been in development for quite some time. Mythical Games revealed their game for the first time in November 2018.

In the party game players can compete and have fun in all kinds of challenges, ranging from platforming and obstacle races to free-for-all or team-based shoot outs. Two type of in-game currencies can be used to buy items for the characters or collect more skins.

Frictionless NFT economy

Blankos Block Party focuses on user generated content, and it introduces a frictionless NFT economy. In October Play to Earn sat down with Rudy Koch and Cameron Thacker from Mythical Games to talk about game economies and the use of blockchain technology. According to them an NFT-based economy is the ‘next evolutionary step for the games industry’.

Through blockchain technology players get real ownership over the content they buy and create. As a result this creates legitimate secondary markets from players to trade. Soon Blankos Block Party will go into beta, and the team will slowly be scaling up. Before that will happen, they have plans to sell Founder’s Packs. “These items will be some of the rarest we will ever release”, Koch explained. “Based on our user projections for the full launch, we estimate about 1% of our users will own the Founder’s Pack items.”

The team at Mythical has build their dGoods system in such a way that NFTs can move across different chains. Because this way they want to make sure that the technology doesn’t limit the liquidity for players.

Blankos Block Party is a party game in which users can enjoy curated and user generated content, ranging from races to shooting challenges, from platforming to other crazy stuff. Users can build creations on the fly using assets available to them, while venturing into new adventures with their personally owned Blankos characters.

Blankos Block Party is using the blockchain technology from EOSIO, similar to EOS and WAX. However, the team of Mythical Games has the ambition to connect their game economy to other blockchains as well.
