The Community Treasury for Axie Infinity will contain all trading fees and primary sales by Sky Mavis for virtual land, Axies and game assets. Last month that would’ve been 80 thousand dollars in trading fees alone. The Community Treasure will be controlled by those who hold AXS tokens. They can use the money to govern the Axie Infinity game world and rewards community members for voting and playing the game.
Please note, this article has been adjusted after Sky Mavis reached out. Play to Earn interpreted a tweet the wrong way.
From trading Axies alone, Sky Mavis managed to gather 180 ETH in October alone. That doesn’t include other months, and it also doesn’t include the trading of virtual land or other digital items. Virtual land for Axie Infinity is currently in very high demand. This would suggest that the income into the Community Treasury for Axie Infinity will be a lot more than 180 ETH.
Once the community treasury has been launched fully, all fees and primary sales will go directly to the treasury. Before that happens, Sky Mavis first needs to fully implement the AXS token in the Axie Infinity ecosystem. Just to be clear, currently the Community Treasury is still empty.
Last month the AXS token launched on Binance with a initial price of $0.10. Currently the token is worth just above 12 dollar cents. The token can only be traded and has no purpose inside the gaming world yet.
Axie finds partner in Aave
Yesterday Axie Infinity and decentralized finance platform Aave announced a partnership. Not only would Aave provide prizes during the next competitive season, but people who have 0.65 AAVE in their wallet can claim a free NFT for Axie Infinity.
This is not the first time Axie Infinity partners with DeFi products. Regulary players can win DAI, which is a dollar-pegged stablecoin from MakerDAO. In addition there has been an NFT giveaway in partnership with Kyber Network, which was a deal very similar to the Aave one.
What is Axie Infinity?
Axie Infinity is a tactical battle game in which two players fight each other using a team of cute creatures called Axies. These little weird balls of joy live in a world called Lunacia, and they come in all kinds of shapes in sizes. Their characteristics influence which moves they are capable of performing. They can be damage dealers, healers, or bad ass tanks.
Axies are deadly cute, that is an undeniable truth. But Axies are not only just cute, their appearance are almost unique. It is difficult to find two look-alike Axies since their body parts have various forms and shapes. There are more than 500 Axie’s body parts. Axies’ body and parts are classified into classes including Beast, Plant, Bug, Bird, Reptile and Aquatic, and more in future release. Moreover, the parts also come with four levels of rarity, which are Common, Rare, Ultra Rare, Legendary.
It is the battle system that makes Axie Infinity stand out. Axies will take turn to fight in a 3v3 battle. The Axies fight for their own will, but to win the victory, players need to a real strategist, from wisely choosing appropriate Axies for their team to placing them at the tactical positions. Soon the team will introduce land gameplay, their AXS governance token and there’s probably a lot more waiting beyond the horizon.
