Gods Unchained mythic card Citadel of the Gods header

The next one-of-a-kind mythic card for the collectible card game Gods Unchained will be given away through a raffle. The card is named Citadel of the Gods and is part of the upcoming Trial of the Gods expansion for the well-known blockchain-powered card game. Previous mythic cards for Gods Unchained are valued well over thirty thousand dollars a piece.

Citadel of the Gods is a 1 mana spell that summons three legendary champions for each player, gives both gods protected, ward, a relic and unlocks all mana locks. The card is supposed to allow players to play out the story of Trial of the Gods within a match itself.

In December 2019 a mythic card called Atlas sold for 210 ETH on a peer-to-peer marketplace, which equaled 31 thousand dollars at that time. The first mythic ever sold, was Hyperion. This card sold for 143 ETH in 2018, which was over 60 thousand dollars at the time of the auction. Alongside Tethys and Prometheus, Hyperion never switched hands.

Tethys was also given away through a raffle. However, the winner never came forward. The card has been sent to the winner’s address, but nobody every publicly claimed it. In addition the Ethereum address hasn’t been active ever since. However, Immutable claims this is a side effect of true ownership. Some items may never be used or are lost forever.

Winning Citadel of the Gods

Buying card packs for Trial of the Gods will earn players Draw Tickets. Through these ERC-20 tokens users are automatically eligible to enter the competition. These tokens can also be sold or traded to other users through third-party marketplaces. Aside from buying packs, players will also be able to earn card packs by playing Gods Unchained. Also these packs will yield Draw Tickets. Besides the Citadel of the Gods mythic card, players will also be able to win shadow card packs.

What is Gods Unchained?

Gods Unchained is a collectible card game built on the Ethereum blockchain. All cards are stored on the blockchain, giving players full ownership over their own set of cards. Players are rewarded digital cards for playing the game, when they have two identical cards these can be minted into one blockchain-based card. These cards of the blockchain are non-fungible tokens and can be traded, sold, lend, borrowed, or used in the game itself.

Trial of the Gods is expected to launch within a few weeks. The expansion will be an update for the game. Before launch Immutable will sell Season 1 card packs. These cards will only be available for a limited time. The Genesis season already sparked lots of interest. In December a one-of-a-kind card was sold for 31 thousand dollars (210 ETH). Future game mechanics will allow users to create limited edition cards from older cards, making existing cards more rare. In addition Gods Unchained can be enjoyed free-to-play, while players are able to earn cards by being active players. True play-to-earn mechanics there!
